Round 3-4: Ch 1, pull up, this chain will not count as a stitch, only a step up to make the rest of the stitches. Work 1 HDC in each HDC around. (28 HDC total)

Toe Top
Find the center of the slipper. Count back 6 stitches and attach the yarn. CH 2. There are going to be a lot of stitches on the hook for the top top. Wrap the yarn over the hook, insert through the next stitch, leave the loops on the hook. Do this 11 times total. When all the loops have been completed, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through all the loops being careful not to drop loops off of the hook. Adjust the final loop for a tight closure. Chain to secure. Cut a long tail, pull the yarn through the chain. Sew the tail through the stitches a couple of times to make sure the stitches are nice and secure. Knot and sew in the tail.

Strap
Skip 2 stitches. Attach the yarn to the 3rd stitch. Ch 1, pull up and work 12 HDC. There will be 2 stitches on each side left unworked. Work 5 Foundation Half Double Crochet to make the strap. The first FHDC will be worked in the same stitch as the last HDC. NOTE: Attach the yarn to the opposite side for the second slipper so you have a closure on each side.

Button Loop
Chain 5 for the button loop or according to your button size. Join with the opposite end of the Half Double Crochet. Cut the yarn and sew in the tail.
