Materials
Size I/5.5 mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle


Cluster -  There will be 6 on round 1.

  • Wrap the yarn over your hook, insert hook through the ring, yarn over pull through two, leave to two remaining loops on the hook.
  • Wrap the yarn over your hook, insert hook through the ring, yarn over pull through two,  leave to three remaining loops on the hook.
  • Wrap the yarn over your hook, insert hook through the ring, yarn over pull through two,  leave to four remaining loops on the hook.
  • Wrap the yarn over your hook, insert hook through the ring, yarn over pull through two,  leave to five remaining loops on the hook.
  • Wrap the yarn over your hook, insert hook through the ring, yarn over pull through two.
  • There are six loops on the hook, wrap the yarn over pull through all 6 loops.

Space - Space is a generic term for working around a chain, between stitches or through a larger gap. On round 2, the term chain 4 space is used to describe working 7 double crochet around the chain.


Chain 5, join.

Round 1: Chain 1, this will not count as at stitch, this is only the step up, *work a cluster(see above for how the cluster is made). Chain 4, Work six time total from *. Work a slip stitch in the first cluster to join. ( 6 clusters, with a chain 4 between)
Round 2:  *Work 7 DC in the next chain 4 space, work a slip stitch in the top of the next joined stitch. Complete 6 times total from *. ( 6 sets of 7 double crochet, slip stitch between)

Round 3: Work a slip stitch around the post of the single crochet on round 1. Chain 1, *work a single crochet in the same place.  We are working on the back side of the petals.  I found it was helpful to pinch the petals together to work the stitch. Work a chain 7. Complete 6 times total from*, join working a slip stitch, with the beginning stitch. Work a slip stitch with the first stitch to join. ( 6 chain 7, single between)

Round 4: Working in the next chain 7 space, *3 DC, 2 TC, Chain 6, work a slip stitch in top of the same stitch, work 2 TC, 3 DC,  work a slip stitch in top of the next DC. Complete 6 times total from *. Work a slip stitch to join with the beginning stitch. ( 6 Petals, slip stitch between)
