Video Tutorial: Crochet Basketweave Scarf Left Hand

FPDC = Front Post Double Crochet
BPDC = Back Post Double Crochet


FPDC =Front Post Double Crochet:
  • Wrap the yarn over your crochet hook.
  • From the front of your work, insert your hook to the right side of your next stitch. If you are left handed, it will be the left of the stitch.
  • Bring it up on the opposite side of the stitch.
  • Wrap the yarn over your crochet hook.
  • Pull your yarn through. You will be pulling it behind the post of the previous double crochet. This will give you 3 loops on your hook.
  • Complete your double crochet the same way that a double crochet is created.
BPDC = Back Post Double Crochet:
  • Wrap the yarn over your crochet hook.
  • From the back of your work, insert your hook to the right side of your next stitch. If you are left handed, it will be the left of the stitch.
  • Bring it up and around to the opposite side of the stitch inserting the hook to the back of your work.
  • Wrap the yarn over your crochet hook.
  • Pull your yarn through. You will be pulling it in front of the post of the previous double crochet. This will give you 3 loops on your hook.
  • Complete your double crochet the same way that a double crochet is created.
Work a chain of 24, skip 2 chains, work a double crochet in each of the next 21 chains. The first chain 2 will count as the first stitch for a total of 22 stitch on the first row.
