Materials
Size H/5 mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn - 9-14 WPI

2 Skeins 249yds/227meters - Colors of your choice
Tapestry Needle

The combination of stitches used in this pattern will be a single crochet and double crochet in the same stitch. They will be worked in top of the double crochet on the previous row.

Row 1: Work a chain of 25, 1 SC in each chain across for a total of 24 single crochet
OR
foundation single crochet of 24. Turn (24 single crochet)

I chose not to work a chain 1 on the edge to turn.  This is to make a neater, tighter edge.  The pattern will still work if you prefer the chain 1.

Row 2: Work 1 SC, 1 DC in the same stitch, skip a stitch, work 1 SC, 1DC in the next stitch, Continue across the row. Turn  (12 sets of SC, DC combination.
Row 3 - 110: Work 1 SC, 1 DC in the same stitch, top of the DC, work 1 SC, 1DC in the next stitch, in top of the double crochet, Continue across the row. Turn  (12 sets of SC, DC combination.

Row 111: Work 1 SC in each stitch across.  (24 single crochet)

Each end has a single crochet foundation.  This is so we can attach the contrasting color at each end and continue with the SC-DC combination.

End Rows - Work on Both Ends

Row 1: Work 1 SC, 1 DC in the same stitch, skip a stitch, work 1 SC, 1DC in the next stitch, Continue across the row. Turn  (12 sets of SC, DC combination.
Row 3 - 14: Work 1 SC, 1 DC in the same stitch, top of the DC, work 1 SC, 1DC in the next stitch, in top of the double crochet, Continue across the row. Turn  (12 sets of SC, DC combination.
