4 ply yarn worsted weight yarn

This cap will be worked with two colors at the same time.
Optional Stitch Effect:The image shows an effect for working 7 double crochet and 7 single crochet staggering the stitches to create a wave. I worked this after the increase rounds were over. If you want to work this on the smaller hats it can be done as well. I will use round 9 with 50 stitches as the example. You would work 5 double crochet, 5 single crochet, staggering the stitches.
There are various places where you can stop to make smaller caps. I have provided a size estimate for the yarn I am using
Chain 5, Join
Round 1: Work 10 SC, Color A
Round 2: Work 2 SC in each stitch around, Color B
Round 3: Work 1 SC in each stitch around Color A
Round 4: *Work 1 SC, 2 SC, repeat from* Color B (30 Single Crochet Total)
Round 5: Work 1 SC in each stitch around, Color A (30 Single Crochet Total)
Round 6: *Work 1 SC in ea of the next 2, 2 SC, repeat from* Color B (40 Single Crochet Total)
Round 7: Work 1 SC in each stitch around, Color A (40 Single Crochet Total) Stop Point 1 - Baby Size Cap 6 month size estimate
Round 8: *Work 1 SC in ea of the next 3, 2 SC, repeat from* Color B (50 Single Crochet Total)
Round 9: Work 1 SC in each stitch around, Color A (50 Single Crochet Total) Stop Point 2 - Toddler size estimate
Round 10: *Work 1 SC in ea of the next 4, 2 SC, repeat from* Color B (60 Single Crochet Total)
Round 11: Work 1 SC in each stitch around, Color A (60 Single Crochet Total) Stop Point 3 - Youth Size Cap or Small Adult Head
Round 12: *Work 1 SC in ea of the next 5, 2 SC, repeat from* Color B (70 Single Crochet Total)
