Materials
Size 9 steel crochet hook
Size 10 Crochet Cotton
Tapestry Needle


Chain 7, join.

Round 1: Chain 5, this will count as the first double crochet chain 3 *DC in chain, Chain 2, eight times from *. Join with the 3rd chain up.  ( 9 Double Crochet, chain 3)

Round 2:  Chain 5, DC in same stitch. *Chain 1, Work a DC, CH 2, DC in the next stitch. Continue around from *, join with the beginning stitch, 3rd chain up. Slip Stitch in to the chain 2 space.

Round 3: Chain 3, DC, CH 2, 2 DC in same space. * Chain 2, in next chain 2 space work, 2DC, CH 2, 2 DC. Continue around from *, Chain 2, join with the beginning chain 3.

Round 4: Chain 3, DC, CH 2, 2 DC in same space. * Chain 3, in next chain 2 space work, 2DC, CH 2, 2 DC. Continue around from *, Chain 3, join with the beginning chain 3.

Round 5: Chain 3, DC, CH 2, 2 DC in same space. * Chain 5, in next chain 2 space work, 2DC, CH 2, 2 DC. Continue around from *, Chain 5, join with the beginning chain 3.

Round 6: Chain 3, DC, CH 2, 2 DC in same space. * Chain 7, in next chain 2 space work, 2DC, CH 2, 2 DC. Continue around from *, Chain 7, join with the beginning chain 3.

Round 7: Chain 3, DC, CH 2, 2 DC in same space. * Chain 9, in next chain 2 space work, 2DC, CH 2, 2 DC. Continue around from *, Chain 9, join with the beginning chain 3.

Round 8: Chain 3, DC, CH 2, 2 DC in same space. * Chain 11, in next chain 2 space work, 2DC, CH 2, 2 DC. Continue around from *, Chain 11, join with the beginning chain 3.   Cut thread, wrap the thread over, pull through, tug to secure.

Flower
Chain 5, join.
Round 1: CH 1, *SC, Chain 4, work 7 times total from *, join with the beginning stitch. (7 chain 4 loops)
Round 2: Petal 1 - Work 7 DC in each chain, slip stitch between in the SC.
Round 3: Slip Stitch around the post of the previous single crochet, chain 1, *work a single crochet around the post. Chain 7, continue around from *, join with the beginning single crochet. (7 chain 7 loops)
Round 4:  Petal 2 - In the chain work 3DC, 2 TC, chain 6, SL ST in the top of the TC, work 2TC, 3DC, slip stitch in single crochet.

Joining the flower to the center of the doily. Work the chain 3, slip stitch to the center chain 2 between the double crochet, Chain 2, slip stitch to the triple crochet. Continue with the petal.  Each petal will be joined the same way to the opposite petal, with two petals.  The final flower will require 3 petals for joining.
