Note: I have marked each place where you can stop increasing to make different size caps.  You continue on until the sides form.
The stopping points are Rounds 2, 4, 6, 8, 10

Abbreviations
DC - Double Crochet
HDC - Half Double Crochet
CH - Chain
SL ST - Slip Stitch

SC - Single Crochet


Materials
Size H/5 mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn - Light Green - Black - White - Dark Green
Tapestry Needle



Hat
Yarn Marker - This can be a scrap piece of yarn to mark the beginning of the round


CH 3 join with the beginning chain.


Round 1: Work 12 SC through the chain. Do not Join. Work the continual round. You may want to use a yarn marker.


Round 2: Work 2 single crochet in each stitch around (24 Single Crochet) You can stop increasing to make a small cap


Round 3:  Work 1 single crochet in each stitch around (24 Single Crochet)  


Round 4:  *Work 1 SC in next stitch, work 2 SC in the next stitch, repeat from*  (36 Single Crochet) You can stop increasing to make a small cap


Round 5:  1 SC in each stitch around (36 Single Crochet)


Round 6: *1 Single Crochet in each of the next two stitches, Two single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat around the hat from *. ( 48 single crochet total)  You can stop increasing to make a Medium size cap


Round 7:  Work 1 single crochet in each stitch around (48 single crochet total) 


Round 8:  *1 Single Crochet in each of the next three stitches, Two single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat around the hat from *. (60 single crochet total) You can stop increasing to make a Medium size cap


Round 9: Work 1 single crochet in each stitch around  (60 single crochet total) 


Round 10:  *1 Single Crochet in each of the next four stitches, Two single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat around the hat from *. (72 single crochet total) You can stop increasing to make a Large size cap


Round 11-12: 1 SC in each stitch around. (72 single crochet total)


Round 13: *1 Single Crochet in each of the next five stitches, Two single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat around the hat from *. (84 single crochet total)


Round 14-30:  1 SC in each stitch around. (84 single crochet total)




Earflaps


Row 1: Work 1 SC in each of the next 16 stitches


Row 2-10: Work 1 SC in each of the next 16 stitches (16 stitches total)


Row 11: Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 8 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches (14 stitches total)


Row 12:  Work 1 single crochet in each stitch across (14 stitches total)


Row 13: Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 6 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches (12 stitches total)


Row 14:  Work 1 single crochet in each stitch across (12 stitches total)


Row 15: Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 4 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches (10 stitches total)


Row 16-18:  Work 1 single crochet in each stitch across (10 stitches total)


Row 19: Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, Work a Single Crochet Decrease, Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches (8 stitches total)


Row 20: Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, Work 2 Single Crochet Decrease,Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches (6 stitches total)


To finish the earflap off, insert the hook in each of the next 5 stitches, drawing the loop through and leaving it on the hook.  There will be a total of 6 loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn over and pull through all 6 loops.  Cut the yarn, pull through, secure.

Abbreviations

TC - Triple Crochet - Wrapping yarn around hook 2 times
QC - Quadruple Crochet - Wrapping yarn around hook 3 times
CH - Chain
SL ST - Slip Stitch


Materials
Size I/5.5 mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle


Heart

Work a chain 3, join

Round 1: (First Triple Crochet will need to be a chain of 5 for the step up) *TC, CH 1, TC, CH 1, TC, CH 2, Complete 4 times total from *. Instead of the CH2, work a HDC in  4th chain to join.

Round 2:  Work 2 SC in the same space. *SC in stitch, SC in space, SC in Stitch, SC in space, SC in Stitch, 3 SC in CH 2 space. Continue around from *, work 1 SC in last space, join with a slip stitch to beginning single crochet.


Round 3: Rounded segments: (2 total) Chain 1, skip 3 SC.  *In the next SC work 7 Quadruple Crochet with a chain 1 between each stitch. CH 1, work a SL ST in the next stitch. Repeat from *.

Round 4: HDC Round:  CH 1, Work 1 HDC in each stitch  down to the center point,  work 3 HDC in the center point for an increase and so the point will lay flat. Work 1 HDC in each SC to the rounded sections.  *Work 1 HDC in each stitch, 2 HDC in each space. Slip stitch in center. Repeat once from *. Join with the beginning stitch.

Hat
Attach the new color of yarn to the top center valley of the heart.
Round 1: Chain 4, DC in the same stitch, DC CH 1, DC, Evenly work 14 sets of DC, CH 1, DC in the same stitch on each side of heart and 1 set in the center point. 14 sets on the opposite side. Join with the beginning stitch.  (total of 29 sets of DC, DH 1, DC)

Round 2-9: Slip stitch to space, Chain 4, work a double crochet in the same space, work a DC, CH 1, DC in each space around, join with the beginning stitch.

Measurements
3" inches tall with a folded edge
4" inches tall - Not folded

Abbreviations
SC - Single Crochet
DC - Double Crochet
SL ST - Slip Stitch


Materials
Size I - 5.5mm crochet hook
3 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle



CH 3 Join.
Round 1: Work 12 SC through the chain, do not join. Work the continual round working the next stitch in top of the first stitch.
Round 2: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (12 SC total)
Round 3: Work 2 SC in each stitch around. (24 SC total)
Round 4: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (24 SC total)
Round 5: Work 2 SC in each stitch around. (48 SC total)
Round 6: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (48 SC total) Work a slip stitch to even off the round.

Round 7: Chain 1, *work a SC in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, work 6 DC in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, continue from * 8 times total. Join with the beginning stitch. (8 Shell total with 6 DC in each shell)

Round 8-15: Slip stitch over 3 DC, CH 1, *Work a SC between the DC. There will be 3 DC on each side of the SC.  Work 6 DC in the next single crochet, Continue around from *.  (8 Shell total with 6 DC in each shell) 

The sides will start to form on round 9.

Handle - 15" inches - 38 CM
CH  12, join with the beginning chain.  
Round 1: Work 12 SC around the chain. Do not join. Work the continual round working the next stitch in top of the first stitch.
Round 2-50: Work 1 SC in each stitch around.  Work a slip stitch at the end to even off the round.

Place the handles evenly across from each other at the bottom of the basket and sew in place.   In the video tutorial, I folded the edge on the basket.  You will sew the handle from the bottom up.  The handle will help the sides stay up.

Upon completion, sew in all the tails.
