Stitch Instructions and Definitions
Continual Round - This is where you work work in the next stitch instead of joining the round. The purpose of this technique is to eliminate the seam.
Chain 4, join.
Round 1: Work 12 SC through the loop (12 single crochet total)
Round 2: Work 2 SC in each stitch around (24 single crochet total)
Round 3: *Work 1 SC in next stitch, work 2 SC in next stitch, repeat from *, (36 single crochet total)
Round 4: Work 1 SC in each stitch around, (36 single crochet total)
Round 5: *Work an individual SC in ea of the next 2 stitches, Work an increase in the next stitch, 2 single crochet, repeat from *, (48 single crochet total)
Round 6 - 8: Work 1 SC in each stitch around (48 single crochet total) Cut yarn and change color
Round 9: Work a round of reverse single crochet, join
Attach the stars evenly to the cap, every 8 stitches using the chain 2 spaces
Round 10: Attach the new color of yarn to the point. Chain 6, attach to the next point of the same star, chain 4, attach to the next star. Continue around and join to the beginning stitch. (There will be 6 chain 6 loops and 6 chain 4 loops)
Round 11: *Work 1 SC in the SC, work 6 SC through chain 6, 1 SC in next SC, 4 SC in chain 4, continue around. (72 single crochet total) Do not join, work in the continual round.
Round 12: Work 1 SC in each single crochet around, continue around. (72 single crochet total)
Round 13-15: Work 1 SC in each single crochet around, continue around. (72 single crochet total)
Round 16: Work 1 SC in each of the next 2 stitches, work 2 SC in the next stitch, continue around. (96 single crochet total)
Round 17-18: Work 1 SC in each single crochet around, continue around. (96 single crochet total)
Stars - Make 6
Chain 4, join
Round 1: Work a chain 1, this will not count as a stitch, *Work 3 HDC through the chain, chain 3, 5 times total from *, join with the beginning stitch. Work a slip stitch over to the chain 3 space.
