If you are familiar with the foundation stitch, you can start off with a row of 42 foundation half double crochet.
16 inches by 5 inches across
10 inches by 5 inches with the folds
Work a chain of 43.
Row 1: Work 1 HDC in each stitch across, turn
Row 2-11: CH 1, this chain 1 will not count as a stitch, only the step to the next row. Work 1 HDC in each stitch across.
Sewing the sides
- You will count back 7 stitches and fold them on top, on each side.
- You will sew the sides together, knotting well at the starting points
- Upon completion, knot, secure and hide the tails.
You will easily be able to slip the cover over your Swiffer Sweeper.
Great idea. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Thanks for the pattern. Can you tell me what the finished dimensions are, please? For some reason your Swiffer looks a lot smaller than mine.

I made one of these just to give it a try and suddenly everyone that has seen it wants one and then another.... They are great! Thanks for the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! This is going to save me soooo much money.... umm until I use that money to buy yarn lol!
ReplyDeleteI work with my husband at a medical building, he's the maintenance man and I do housekeeping in the common areas. One of our 'tools' is a commercial sized floor duster which is in desperate need of some new 'fluffies'. I keep threatening to crochet one ever since I saw this a month ago...it would need to be about three times the size. If I happened to have enough scrap cotton yarn I would so make one...
ReplyDeleteI made one a year ago. I love it. Just throw it in the washer and dryer. and go to work. Very easy to make.
