T- These hats are gorgeous! Did you try approaching boutiques in your area that sell handmade items? Sometimes you can sell things for a lot more money at those kinds of stores (as apposed to ebay and etsy) since people like the idea of saying "oh I got this hat at that cute boutique on xyz street". It's a shame that you're not making money on selling your products since you're so talented! :)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Just an idea, since you have such a great blog, you could sell your hats straight from your blog with no middle man. You could post a picture and a price and I am pretty sure you would get many offers. Your hats are amazing!
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, thanks so much for all of your tutorials. I love making the flowers. They can be added to just about anything!
Thank you. I just wanted to share the hats to give people ideas for what they can do.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hats! I agree - cut out the middle man. Sell your hats straight from your blog or set up your on website...it's not hard and pretty inexpensive. I've heard that Intuit.com is a great option for setting up your own website.
ReplyDeleteLove your hats (and everything else). I'm so glad I found this site!
ReplyDeleteI'm just curious, how long does it take you to make the average hat? I love to crochet, but I'm s-l-o-w. :)
wow your hats are beautiful. i also crochet and i actually started my blog to sell my hats and scarves and purses and whatever else i come up with .... its fairly easy if you ever wanted to get into it again.. :)
ReplyDeletewww.karriescreations.com in case you wanted to see how mine was set up :)
I like the Daffodil Hat. Some are really not my style as they are more bold than I like to wear but I can totally see your stuff on Gals going down the runway. :)
ReplyDeleteOnline I mainly sell hats and amigurumi and custom work. As of late I made a Blue Raspberry Cream Pie and Chocolate Cake with Blue Frosting.
ps I learned the Afghan stitch from you. :)
can you make a video for knitting a sweater please i love your work and your awsome. can u email at gegolickbaby@aol.com when nyou have done so thanks a lot
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that people expect a low price on ebay and etsy but through another blog http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2010/02/my-entry.html the I found this sitehttp://oddmolly.com/ who feature quite a lot of crochet clothes often made up from granny squares at really expensive prices ie. £350.00 GBP for a cardigan which they are able to sell. Just shows what boutique type shops can do. Janxx
ReplyDeleteps I hope i posted the links the right way
I agree with you Tinker899. If I were to set something up again, I would do it myself as Karrie's Creations has suggested.

ReplyDeleteYou could sell them on here. You have enough followers and word of mouth will spead quickly. You could also sell special patterns (ones you have not posted for free-thank you for your generosity by the way). You could also sell your patterns on Ravelry.com.
ReplyDeleteYou should try out artfire.com They offer their services for free unlike Etsy and if you want to expand your shop you can then choose to pay a small fee. I suggest you check it out if you feel like selling anything again ;o)
ReplyDeleteYour hats are lovely, I love all of them, I crochet handbag, clutch and crochet applique. Currently I sell them on Dawanda.
