Crochet Fingerless Gloves

Thank you to Sue, from Sue's Crochet and Knitting for permission to use her pattern in this video. The video is made with the glove for women. The male version, is a larger version for the same style.

This pattern can easily be modified to make the glove with 2 or 3 ply yarn. Start the pattern with the cuff. The cuff will have more rounds so you will start off with more stitches creating the palm and thumb increase section. Everything throughout the pattern will be the same other than working more rounds and more stitches in each round.

  1. Thank you so much for all your helpful videos and patterns! On Thanksgiving, I will have been crocheting for 1 year! Your blog and videos have been extremely helpful in explaining the various crochet techniques.

I do have a question about the fingerless gloves. I am wondering why you do not chain 1 and turn, as the pattern says? Is it to give the outside of the glove more of a uniform and smooth look, or is there another technical reason? I have been "hooked" on doing fingerless gloves the past month or so, and I can't wait to try the pattern you have demonstrated! Thanks again! - Keri in OKC at "Greyt Balls of Yarn".

  2. Keri,
I like the look of the front side of the stitch and feel that it gives it a smoother finish. It can be done either way. I work on "front side only" with everything worked in a round.
