Abbreviations
CL - Cluster
DC - Double Crochet
CH - Chain

Cluster
- Wrap the yarn over the hook, insert the hook through the stitch/chain. Wrap the yarn over the hook and pull it through. Wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through two loops. Leave the two loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn over the hook and insert it through the same stitch/chain. Wrap the yarn over the hook and pull it through the loop. Wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through 2 loops. There will be 3 remaining loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through all three loops.


Cluster Shell - Cluster, CH 2, Cluster in the same space/stitch/chain,
CH 2, Cluster in the same space/stitch/chain.


Multiple - 8

I recommend a chain of 150 for a baby size afghan.  You can increase or decrease by 8 to modify the size.

Row 1: Work a Single Crochet in the 2nd Chain from the hook. *Skip 3 chains, in the 4th work the cluster shell(See description and symbol chart above)
. Skip 3 chains, work a single crochet in the next chain. Continue across from * ending with a single crochet.

Row 2: Ch 1, pull up a long loop. Work 1/2 of a Cluster Shell in the single crochet.
(See description and symbol chart above) *Work a single crochet in the center cluster of the next shell. Work a full cluster shell in the next single crochet. Continue across ending with a 1/2 shell on the edge.

Row 3:
Single Crochet in the top of the previous cluster. *Work a cluster in the next single crochet. Work a single crochet in the center of the next cluster shell. Continue across from * ending with a single crochet.
