

This stitch is made with the triple crochet. The technique will apply to any of the wheel stitch variations.

I used a chain of 38 with the swatch in the video. This gives me 10 inches. Each wheel is approximately 2-3/4 inches across.
Baby Afghan - Chain 122. This amount includes the plus 2. This will create 10 wheels. For each additional wheel you want to make, crochet 12 more chains. Estimated is width 33 inches. Width will vary with the hook size and crochet tension.

TC - Triple Crochet
SC - Single Crochet
Joined Stitches - The joined stitches will be done by wrapping the yarn around your hook twice, insert the hook through the stitch, pull the yarn through the stitch, wrap the yarn over your hook, pull through two loops, wrap the yarn over, pull through two loops. Leave the last loop of each stitch on your hook.
Row 1: 1 SC in the 2nd chain from the hook, *skip 5 chains, 9 TC in the next chain, skip 5 chains, SC in the next chain, repeat from * across for each wheel.
Row 2: Right Edge - CH 5, Work a triple crochet in each of the next 4 TC leaving the last loop on the hook, You will have 5 loops on the hook, wrap the yarn over and pull through all 5 loops, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through to secure. You have completed the 1/4 wheel on the right edge. Center Wheel - CH 5, SC in the next SC(5th TC), *CH 5, Work a TC in each of the next 4 TC, 1 SC, 4 TC leaving the last loop on the hook, there will be 10 loops on the hook, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through all loops, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through to secure and complete the 1/2 wheel. CH 5, SC in the next SC(5th TC), Repeat across from * across for each wheel. Left Edge -CH 5, Work a triple crochet in each of the next 5 TC leaving the last loop on the hook, You will have 6 loops on the hook, wrap the yarn over and pull through all 6 loops, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through to secure. That will complete the bottom section of the 1/4 wheel on the left edge.
Row 3: Right Edge - CH 5, work 4 TC in the joining loop to complete the top 1/4 of the wheel. SC in the next SC. Center Wheel -*9 TC in the next center, joining space to complete the top 1/2 of the wheel. SC in the next SC. Repeat across from * for each wheel. Left Edge - 5 TC in the edge joining to complete 1/4 wheel.
Row 4: CH 1, turn, SC in the same stitch, *CH 5, Work a TC in each of the next 4 TC, 1 SC, 4 TC leaving the last loop on the hook, there will be 10 loops on the hook, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through all loops, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through to secure and complete the 1/2 wheel. CH 5, SC in the next SC(5th TC), Repeat across from * across for each wheel.
Row 5: CH 1, turn, SC in the same SC, *9 TC in the center joining space of the next stitch. This will complete the top portion of the wheel, SC in the next SC. Repeat across from * for each wheel.
Repeat rows 2-5 for the remainder of the length of the pattern.
Suggested edgings: You can end with a flat edge and use a single crochet. I also recommend using row 5 to match up the wheels on the edge, for a rounded edging.
