Video Tutorial: Crochet V-Stitch Decrease

The symbol image chart and video tutorial show how to decrease the V-Stitch.
  • Row 4 has 7 V-Stitches
  • Row 5 is decreasing the V-Stitches to 6 by combining two V-stitches and reducing them to 1 V-Stitch
  • Start the decrease with 1 double crochet in the center of the first V- Stitch
  • Chain 3
  • 1 double crochet in the center of the next V- Stitch
  • Row 6 has 6 V-Stitches

  4. You are a good teacher and I'm hoping you can teach me how to decrease in the shell and V combo pattern. I'm making a baby sweater and the A-line feature is getting far too wide for a wee little girl. It's wide enough now that I'd like it to remain the same width. Thanks very much.
