Changing the Color of your Crochet Project

Changing colors is nothing more than, cutting your yarn, securing it, then attaching a new color. There is no special way to go about doing it. It is no different than if you ran out of yarn in the middle of your project and had to attach a new skein. It comes down to your personal preference when attaching a new strand of yarn. Below are several videos that touch on changing colors.

  1. Hi Teresa,

Can you make a project with tunisian crochet such as purse or wrap jut like the baby dress kind to get clear understanding. Are there diff stiches involved i n Tunisian crochet too...never did this but looks interesting....Regds, Seema

  2. I just found your blog today and LOVE all of the patterns and video tutorials you are sharing! I just love seeing more crochet out there in the world!

I wanted to share with you a technique I learned to stop the hole that occurs during mid-row color changes with tunisian. Before you pick up the new colour to YP, you twist the old and the new colours around (over, under and up) and then YO. And then again on the way back.

I hope that makes sense. I have pics on Flickr and Ravelry I could send you.

  3. Brilliant details you have kept in your article, I am truly impressed. Health Insurance Miami Florida
